Dr. Shaw is an Associate Professor of Surgery, State University of New York and a member of the Division of Vascular Surgery at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY. She is the Director of the Vascular Surgery Fellowship and the Venous Program. She has special interest and expertise in diabetic limb salvage and wound care. She has held leadership roles and is currently the Secretary for the International Society of Endovascular Specialists and Vice President of the New England Society of Vascular Surgery.
From 2010 to 2014, Dr. Shaw was a member of the Division of Vascular Surgery at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA. where she was Associate Program Director of Vascular Surgery Fellowship. She also was Director of Vascular & Endovascular Surgery at South Shore Hospital, a major affiliate of her parent institution. Doctor Shaw has also been Program Director of the Vascular Fellowship in the Division of Vascular Surgery at Boston University School of Medicine and Co-director of Endovascular Surgery at Boston Medical Center from 2003 to 2010. During her time at Boston University she was primarily responsible for developing the Abdominal and Thoracic Aortic endovascular programs working closely with the division of Interventional Cardiology, Interventional Radiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery.
Dr. Palma Shaw completed General Surgery training at Saint Vincents Medical Center and a Fellowship in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery from Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. She is board certified in both General Surgery and Vascular Surgery. She was a Visiting Research Fellow with Dr. Frank Veith at Montefiore Medical Center focusing on Aortic Endografting. Her clinical expertise includes endovascular aortic surgery, peripheral intervention, venous intervention and wound care.
